Pilates Equipment Instructor 

Part-Time Position - Daytime, Evenings and Weekends, Variable Hours

Job Summary 


Indigo Yoga & Pilates Studio seeks a passionate and experienced Pilates Instructor to join our amazing Pilates team, supporting our growing studio, a hub for Pilates, Gyrotonics, wellness and community in the East Bay. 


Instructors must be well-trained, experienced, and confident working with a broad range of physical needs, ages and abilities, both one-on-one, and in challenging group formats. This part-time position specifically requires ongoing evening and weekend availability for both private sessions and groups. Reporting to the Studio Directors and the Pilates Manager, the right candidate must be comfortable working both independently and in collaboration with other instructors.

Primary Responsibilities of the Job


Enthusiastically support Indigo’s mission and vision to maintain a warm and vibrant studio culture and community
Report to and collaborate with Studio Directors and Pilates Manager. 
Collaborate with Pilates Manager, Retail/Facilities Manager, Marketing Manager, Events Manager and HR
Participate in monthly Pilates Team meetings 
Utilize Mindbody Online (MBO) private session scheduling tools
Build a strong student base through consistency, warmth and excellent teaching 
Teach both group and private sessions with commitment and passion
Maintain and develop your skills through continuing education 
Follow the Studio Directors’ lead by infusing kindness and integrity throughout all aspects of studio operations at all levels

Ability to communicate the Pilates technique with precision and warmth

A comprehensively trained, experienced, compassionate and connected teacher 
A great listener who values community and collaboration
A talent for building positive relationships with many different personalities

An individual willing to work with us to build a solid and consistent book of evening and weekend clientele
Passionate about Pilates and wellness and excited to learn more

 

Compensation, Location and Work Environment


Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
This is an employment-only position. No contractors or renters. 
Work onsite in our spacious and beautifully-equipped studio environment.
Regular daytime, evening and weekend hours form the bulk of this position.
Pilates Instructors receive complimentary Pilates groups on a space-available basis as well as standing discounts on store merchandise and studio events.
