50-Hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training: The Foundations

50-Hour In-Person Prenatal YTT

Starts May 9th, 2024

Calling all yoga teachers, midwives, doulas, other health professionals, and experienced yoga students who have a desire to learn and/or teach prenatal yoga!

If you are a certified yoga teacher and feel inadequately prepared to assist, modify, and collaborate with your pregnant clients then this training is especially for you!

Our prenatal teacher training will teach you the specifics of the anatomy of a pregnant body, yoga poses for each trimester including the fourth trimester (postpartum), and props that best support the ever-changing body. Most importantly you will leave this training confidently knowing how to build your own prenatal yoga sets intelligently & intuitively for this diverse community.

You will learn prenatal hatha postures, kundalini kriyas, and healing meditations in this training as well as relaxation techniques and pranayama: skills that can be used throughout pregnancy as well as birth and the weeks following.

Our prenatal teacher training will ALSO teach you how to create and nurture community with your students, including special rites/celebrations to offer for mamas closer to their birthing time and establishing a safe and sacred space for their classes. We will discuss the cultural and ethnic diversity of our county and ways to support all family configurations. You will learn how to teach from an inclusive vs. assumptive position.

Throughout this training, you will also observe prenatal yoga classes in real-time with a de-briefing period immediately following. The practicum experience will provide a deeper understanding of the nature/structure of a class.

During this training, we will be creating a Brave Space - a place where we can explore our biases and blind spots, express any fears that may come up and seek support from a loving sangha. You will also experience a Kundalini Yoga rebirthing kriya to clear any subconscious stories you may be personally carrying and experience a deep sense of peace and renewal.

When you teach prenatal yoga, you are supporting people at a very important time in their life and your presence is meaningful. It is both an honor and a privilege to work with this population.
